ABOUT US

MISSION AND VISION

Exceptional Education

Waldorf School Orange County (WSOC) invites you to explore the Waldorf curriculum from early childhood through high school. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive education that engages the child cognitively, actively and emotionally. We recognize and welcome the unique gifts brought by each child we serve, encourage independent thinking and imagination, and foster a life-long love of learning.

Based upon the teachings and insights of Rudolf Steiner, our age-appropriate curriculum fully integrates the disciplines of the humanities, science and math, movement, and the arts into a strong academic program. Within our school community and in our classrooms, our goal is to engage the mind, fire the imagination, and strengthen the will as students develop with initiative, creativity, and the skills to enter responsibly into an ever changing local and global community.

Waldorf School Orange County has been helping families raise well-balanced, multi-faceted and accomplished young people since 1988. Waldorf education is the fastest growing, nondenominational independent school system in the world, now with over 1000 schools worldwide. Our outstanding and dedicated faculty has led WSOC to become one of the most respected and successful Waldorf schools in North America.

Mission Statement

The Waldorf School Orange County offers a curriculum that meets the student’s age-related capacities and fosters in each student a genuine interest in the world, an intellectual curiosity, a connection to the human spirit and a sense of purpose in life.

Vision Statement

WSOC has a vision of the world where the sanctity of childhood is protected, the unique gifts of each student are respected, and graduates embrace the future as engaged global citizens.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement

Waldorf School Orange County is committed to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community.

We, the faculty, administration, and Board of Trustees, recognize that our efficacy in realizing this commitment hinges upon our active intervention. We refuse complicity in the pervasive indignities of systemic inequality.

We patently reject any essentialist understanding of race, gender, or religion that subsumes individual differences hierarchically or evolutionarily in the early lectures of Rudolf Steiner.
As an accredited member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), Waldorf School Orange County stands behind the following AWSNA statement:
“Waldorf education espouses principles of respect for human dignity. Any narratives or indications made by Rudolf Steiner that are in contradiction to these principles are not the basis for Waldorf education and we unequivocally denounce such statements.”
